Nominal Bore
The Illustrated Guide to Hot and Cold Water Services (BG 33/2014), written by Reginald Brown and published by BSRIA in 2014, defines Nominal Bore (NB) as: ‘…a system of pipe sizes that are loosely related to the actual pipe diameter in inches, for example ½” NB, ¾” NB, 1” NB.’
